Scenic Myer’s Park is a historical district and charming neighborhood of Charlotte, North Carolina. It had a population of 9,809 at the last census and is located close to the South Carolina border.
One of the main draws, for both tourists and locals alike, is the national historic district ensconced within Myer’s Park. This district has 670 buildings to its name, connected through a planned streetcar path. It was developed in 1911 and contains notable examples of contemporary architecture, such as American Craftsman, Tudor Revival, and Colonial Revival styling. The historic district is home to the James Buchanan Duke House; Buchanan was an industrialist known for his family’s involvement in creating and funding Duke University. Many of the homes within the Myers Park Historic District are on the National Register of Historic Places.
