You Don't Have to Live with Vulvodynia
Say Goodbye to Vaginal Discomfort
What is Vulvodynia?
Vulvodynia is a painful condition that features an irritation or burning of the vulva without any identifiable cause. Although the case of vulvodynia is may not be known, the pain can be very intense and can be localized on one side or felt on both sides of the vulva.
One type of vulvodynia is known as vulvar vestibulitis or localized provoked vestibulodynia (LPV), which features intense pain in the vestibule (the area of the vulva surrounding the opening of the vagina).
Women with LPV feel pain during or after pressure is applied to the vestibule as a result of any of the following:
- insertion of tampons
- sexual intercourse
- vaginal/gynecologic exams
- sitting for extended periods of time
